The all-new 2024 Toyota Highlander will go on sale once again. This time, we expect to see more major updates. The Japanese automaker will continue to implement hybrid powertrain options across the lineup. This three-row SUV is perfect candidate, especially because it directly rivals Ford Explorer SUV.
Complete redesign is still not on the cards, but, a nice mid-cycle facelift is on the way. Thanks to that, the Highlander SUV will gain a lot of new stuff, including new colors, and much more. There will be five trim levels, according to the most recent reports. On top of that, there is a stylish Bronze Edition available as well.
As we said, this three-row SUV is about to introduce a mid-cycle refresh. Thanks to that, the 2024 Toyota Highlander will introduce a couple of interesting upgrades. There is also the Highlander L edition, a larger version with more interior room. The base trim level will ride on 18-inch wheels, and it will gain refreshed LED headlights and taillights. From what we know, Toyota plans to introduce new exterior colors and new exterior elements, so the next variant will look more stylish. Some colors will remain, including Moon Dust, Flare Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, and Blueprint.
On the inside, Toyota will deliver higher level of comfort with new cloth upholstery. On the other hand, optional leather seats should remain intact. And while the infotainment system will see crucial updates, a standard 8-inch touchscreen will remain. With a room for seven passengers, Toyota Highlander is quite comfortable and spacious SUV. If that’s not good enough for you, the Highlander L variant is the best way to gain even more room on the inside.
Toyota Highlander Hybrid
The upcoming 2024 Toyota Highlander Hybrid comes with the same 2.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine, which generates 243 horsepower and 173 lb-ft of torque. Despite a significant reduction in power output from the previous generation, the latest hybrid model is highly efficient and surpasses all other large SUVs with a combined fuel economy rating of 35 miles per gallon. The engine comes with a smooth CVT automatic transmission that delivers power to all wheels, and the hybrid SUV can tow up to 3,500 pounds, although it’s not primarily designed for heavy hauling.
As before, Toyota offers a regular turbo-four gas engine. This unit is capable of producing 265 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. And while hybrid powertrain gets 35 mpg, this engine returns around 25 mpg combined. It comes with a standard FWD setup, and AWD system is optional. An eight-speed automatic transmission is in use, and Highlander SUV with gas engine can tow around 5,000 pounds.
