The 2024 Land Rover Defender SVX is a very capable SUV and a potential rival of the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and Ford Bronco Raptor. While its off-road capability is still not proven, the Defender SVX will definitely add more luxury than its biggest competitors.
Recently, the first spy shots appeared online, showing us what the new model should look like. The Defender model comes with a V8 engine, but SVX will use a more potent V8 gas powertrain. Moreover, it will add a lot of off-road goodies and various interior improvements.
The prototype of the 2024 Land Rover Defender SVX has been caught on cameras. Spy shots are showing a familiar quad-exhaust setup, like on the regular Defender with a V8 engine. Moreover, wheel arches are wider and the suspension is raised. This model will offer standard BFGoodrich all-terrain tires.
The set of larger mudflaps looks great and it adds to the vehicle’s aggressiveness. Other notable features are the external roll-cage, underbody protection, and front winch. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for official images, because spy photos are not showing completely undisguised design.
Land Rover Defender SVX Specs
Right now, we don’t know how much power will the 2024 Land Rover Defender is going to produce. However, the recognizable quad-exhaust tips setup suggests a potent V8 engine. Unlike the base Defender with a V8 gas engine, the SVX will gain a supercharger. Thanks to that, a larger 5.0-liter V8 supercharged engine will develop around 520 horsepower, which is quite a lot.
Furthermore, Land Rover also offers BMW’s 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with 523 horsepower. Therefore, expect astonishing performance from this model, which includes great off-road capability. The manufacturer definitely has big plans, as recently saw a prototype of the Defender SVR version, which will be available in both 90 and 110 variants.
2024 Land Rover Defender SVX Launch Date
As we said, we don’t know all of the details right now. However, the 2024 Land Rover Defender SVX will definitely arrive later next year. And while Defender SVX will rival Ford Bronco Raptor and Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, Land Rover’s SUV will cost significantly more. On the other hand, it is a model with added luxury, so the price of over 100,000 should not surprise you at all.
Land Rover already offers variants such as Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) and SVR track-focused variants. On top of that, there is a very luxurious SVAutobiography model as well. As for the SVX, it is an off-road variant, so it will cost less than the most expensive trim levels.
