The upcoming 2024 GMC Terrain is ready for additional updates. However, this time, changes are quite minor. On the other hand, the next-gen Terrain will reportedly arrive later in 2024. Given that it has been around since 2009, this SUV is quite dependable.
The compact SUV is a wise decision since it combines practicality with comfort, riding comfort, good safety ratings, and above-average fuel efficiency. The updates won’t amount to much, but GMC will still deliver a couple of cabin upgrades and smaller visual refreshments.
From what we heard, things under the hood will be intact. Currently, the present 1.5-liter turbo-four gasoline engine is available once again. Recent upgrades to this unit’s power have increased its output to around 175 hp and 205 lb-ft of torque. Although it isn’t much, the Terrain SUV performs quite well. The objective is to increase fuel efficiency. At the moment, this model gets 24 city mpg and 29 mpg on the highway.
A 2.0-liter turbo-four engine with 250 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque is available as an option. A nine-speed automatic transmission will still be available and the maximum towing capacity is rated at around 3,500 pounds. As before, an AWD layout will be an option in addition to the regular FWD system.
The next 2024 GMC Terrain will resemble the current model in terms of appearance. This is not a terrible thing, since the SUV has a highly modern and upright styling. The next generation Terrain is currently being developed, therefore this next version will have a few minor changes. The vehicle’s dimensions will remain the same because the E2 platform is still available.
With distinctive headlamps and a prominent grille, the front fascia adopts a more aggressive look. Even the back part is simple to identify because of the well-known taillights. New exterior paints could be on the way, and GMC will probably offer a few more optional features.
GMC Terrain Interior
Again, changes on the inside should be minor. On the other hand, the 2024 GMC Terrain will offer quite a modern and upright cabin design. Therefore, fundamental features like a 7-inch touchscreen, Bluetooth Apple CarPlay, and other high-tech amenities should be standard on entry models. Wi-Fi, a luxury sound system, and much more are optional.
The list of optional amenities continues with an 8-inch digital instrument cluster, a larger infotainment touchscreen, Wi-Fi, a sunroof, and leather seats. The Terrain SUV will only provide more safety aids than it offers right now. Besides that, the interior should largely remain.
2024 GMC Terrain Release Date and Price
This SUV will hit the dealerships in the third quarter of 2023, per reports. The 2024 GMC Terrain will once again cost $30,000 and it will move up from there. On the other hand, the next-gen Terrain is not so far away, as we expect a complete redesign in the later stages of 2024.
