The upcoming 2023 Chevy Equinox will debut next year with several changes. This unassuming little crossover SUV is a category favorite with unusual appearance. In addition, it offers a spacious interior, a well-equipped entertainment system, and high-quality materials. Also, according to recent reports, the manufacturer will upgrade all trim levels and packages.
All Equinox variants share a turbo-four engine with 170 hp. Optionally, power is sent to front- or all-wheel drive. The Equinox model will remain a four-door crossover SUV with the same dimensions as the outgoing model. The sales will begin next year and here’s what you need to know about it.
2023 Equinox Exterior Redesign
The next 2023 Chevy Equinox will only come in one body style. As we said, it is a four-door compact crossover SUV. According to the latest reports, this model will introduce a redesign. The front fascia will gain numerous refreshments and it will look more upright as a result.
Changes to the popular compact crossover include a new front grille, restyled headlights, and a new lower fascia for 2023. The side profile is still sporty with new gray wheels. The Chevrolet Equinox has updated taillamps and bumpers as well. We also expect to see new optional wheels, new exterior colors and more standard features.
The new 2023 Chevy Equinox comes with a more stylish interior and more premium materials. Plus, there’s enough room for five passengers. There should be ample comfort for both front and back passengers to make long trips more bearable. The cabin also comes with plenty of standard and optional amenities.
In the base model, the Equinox comes with a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system. Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and 4G LTE onboard Wi-Fi are standard, as is Bluetooth. Upper trim levels are offering more luxury, including leather seats, sunroof and power-adjustable features.
Under the Hood
Sadly, the new 2023 Chevy Equinox will use the same engine as previously. This SUV’s turbo 1.5-liter four-cylinder makes 170 horsepower. It also has optional all-wheel drive, while front-wheel drive is available as standard. Also available is a six-speed automatic gearbox. With this engine, the Chevy Equinox can tow up to 3500 pounds. Also, the current model gets 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.
As before, the optional AWD system will lower the fuel efficiency ratings, but not drastically. We don’t know if the Equinox RS variant will go on sale next year. It is a sporty variant with so much to offer. The black 19-inch alloy wheels, blacked-out treatment and additional features will be on offer in the Equinox RS model. However, it will use the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine as the regular Equinox.
