The upcoming 2023 Audi Q8 is getting more dramatic updates. The 2022MY arrived with mild upgrades, slightly more standard features, and new packages. Now, Audi will introduce numerous upgrades before the new-gen Q8 arrives in 2024 or 2025. Thanks to that, we expect to see refreshed styling and more premium interior design.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer will not provide any sort of upgrade under the hood. This means the Q8 SUV will continue to offer V6 mild-hybrid and optional V8 twin-turbo powertrain options. The sales will begin next summer and here’s everything you need to know.
Audi Q8 Exterior Facelift
The 2023 refresh will not include a complete redesign. The exterior redesign will happen once the new generation arrives. This leads us to the 2023 Audi Q8 model and the facelift this SUV will introduce. A new platform will not happen yet. Instead, the facelift will include a revised lighting system, refreshed bumpers, and new exterior colors. Moreover, Q8 SUV will gain new lines and it will look sharper than the outgoing model. The Q8 model will also look sportier as the roofline is more sloped.
Even so, the front fascia of this futuristic SUV remains the standout feature. The muscular grille looks great with the Matrix LED headlights. The Premium variant has 20-inch wheels, whilst the Premium Plus model has 21-inch wheels. The Black Optic package adds wider 22-inch Sport wheels with red brake calipers as an option. The S Line package adds even more sportiness, as well as alloy wheels, illuminated door sills, and other features.
The cabin of the 2023 Audi Q8 will include more basic equipment as well as some brand-new high-tech features. The comfort is excellent, which is hardly surprising given that it is a luxury SUV. Audi offers conventional leather upholstery as well as Alcantara materials. The Q7 model is a three-row seven-seat version, whilst the Q8 SUV is only available in a two-row five-seat configuration.
The cabin is spacious and the level of comfort is truly impressive. Although Audi’s iconic virtual cockpit remains, a new version of the MMI infotainment system will be on offer. The Q8 variant will include a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen as the upper unit, while the lower 8.6-inch screen remains unchanged.
No Changes Under the Hood
The same two turbocharged engines will be available in the 2023 Audi Q8. The base powertrain choice is a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine with 335 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque. This model includes a belt-driven generator, a lithium-ion battery pack, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. While the hybrid model is more fuel-efficient, the SQ8 vehicle is more powerful.
This variant will be powered by the same 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 500 horsepower and a torque of 570 lb-ft. Both variants come equipped with all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
2023 Audi Q8 Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2023 Audi Q8 will now cost slightly below $70,000. Audi will launch facelifted Q8 SUV next summer, with the Prestige SQ8 option costing over $100,000.
