The 2022 Porsche Cayenne is about to introduce major changes. This popular SUV will keep its recognizable appearance, but numerous refreshments are a must for this model. First spy photos of the Cayenne SUV are finally available, but some exterior parts are perfectly camouflaged. The interior is another mystery, but we expect to see various updates, mostly in terms of technology.
Cayenne is a luxury model with great performances, but improvements in terms of power are less likely. Porsche will launch its new model in the last quarter of 2021 and the popular Cayenne GTS coupe variant will also hit the dealerships.
2022 Cayenne Spy Shots
Interestingly, but we still don’t know if the 2022 Porsche Cayenne is getting a redesign. It seems like the spy photos are showing significant exterior changes. Logically, the front and rear sections will suffer the biggest upgrades. The front fascia comes with slimmer headlamps, new front fenders, and a new hood. Thanks to that, Cayenne’s front end looks sharper than before.
The grille seems to be larger, but we can’t confirm this until the camouflage comes off. As for the rear section, the taillights are different, but we can’t confirm if the taillamps are brand new or reshaped. The liftgate is changed, along with the complete lower rear fascia.
Interior Changes
Unfortunately, the spy photos are not showing interior details. However, the 2022 Porsche Cayenne will surely introduce a couple of essential interior updates. For a start, Porsche will deliver a larger touchscreen. On top of that, the center console will be different, so it can match other Porsche’s models. The cabin is full of luxury and we expect to see even more standard equipment.
A pair of 7-inch digital gauges will remain, along with the steering wheel and upholstery. New Cayenne comes with the latest safety aids as well, and some optional features will become standard. At this moment, the Cayenne SUV offers a push-button start, 10-speaker sound system, keyless entry, leather upholstery, and much more.
Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid Specs
Like the interior, performances of the 2022 Porsche Cayenne are a mystery as well. The most reliable reports are predicting for the engine lineup to remain. The base variant will use a 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged engine. This gasoline powertrain generates up to 355 horsepower and 322 lb-ft of torque. If you opt for the GTS variant, Porsche offers a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine with 453 horsepower.
The same engine is available in the Cayenne Turbo model, but this variant will produce 540 horses and 568 lb-ft of torque. The E-Hybrid system is also on offer. Porsche combines a 3.0-liter V6 with the electric motor and the combined output is rated at 455 hp. You can also opt for the same system in combination with the optional V8 twin-turbo unit, output will develop 670 hp. No matter which engine you opt for, an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard.
2022 Porsche Cayenne Release Date, Price
The price of the base 2022 Porsche Cayenne starts at about $66,000. On the other hand, the range-topping version will cost almost $170,000. Porsche is yet to announce all of the updates, which should happen in the coming months. The sales will begin by the end of 2021, or early in 2022.
