The 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport continues with the changes and upgrades. This time, Rogue Sport will introduce a redesign. New model will look sharper and it will arrive with a more modern interior. This model slots between the Kicks and Rogue variants and it is the latest Nissan’s model to gain an overhaul. In Europe, Rogue Sport is sold as the “Qashqai” model and two models are logically sharing a lot of things.
Interestingly, but Qashqai will feature a hybrid powertrain option. On the other hand, the Rogue Sport version won’t. Instead, Nissan will deliver a four-cylinder gasoline engine with both front- and all-wheel-drive setups. The manufacturer will also add more standard features, new optional amenities, and much more. The sales will begin in the second half of 2021.
2022 Rogue Sport Redesign
The upcoming 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport will arrive with a complete redesign, New model will introduce a lot of novelties and the latest spy photos are showing its latest updates. First of all, the new Rogue Sport will look sleeker and sharper than the outgoing model. The front fascia is bolder and it comes with boomerang-shaped LED headlights. Moreover, Nissan will stick to its familiar V-Motion grille design.
Nissan Juke gained the same update, which comes as no surprise at all. We can’t confirm if the Rogue Sport will grow in size, but it seems like the dimensions are intact. Heavy camouflage perfectly hides some exterior parts. Still, we can easily spot wider wheel arches and new taillights. We are waiting for the camouflage to come off, as we expect to see additional cosmetic upgrades.
Interior Upgrades
On the inside, the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport will also gain a lot of significant updates. The new cabin looks better and definitely more modern. The dashboard is finished in a different shape and it looks more attractive. Moreover, Rogue Sport comes with the new flat-bottom steering wheel and tablet-like infotainment touchscreen.
The range-topping trim level will introduce new quilted leather upholstery, larger displays, and a digital gauge display. The interior design won’t depart from the Qashqai model in Europe. Nissan plans to add more standard features, including the 9-inch display. Lastly, the Safety Shield 360 suite is upgraded so Rogue Sport offers new safety aids as well.
Hybrid Powertrain Not an Option Right Now
As we said, the Qashqai variant in Europe will offer a hybrid powertrain option. As for the 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport, this model will probably arrive with the regular gasoline engine. This means the Rogue Sport will once again offer a 2.0-liter four-cylinder unit with 141 horsepower.
The novelty is the all-new CVT transmission and Rogue will continue to offer both FWD and AWD systems. And while this model lacks acceleration, its engine delivers 25 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, which is great.
2022 Nissan Rogue Sport Release Date, Price
New 2022 Nissan Rogue Sport will become available for around $25,500. There will be three trim levels and the SL variant will cost above $30,000. Nissan will launch new Rogue Sport model in the United States in the second half of 2021.
