The 2022 Lincoln Navigator will finally gain more significant upgrades. As you probably know, Lincoln didn’t provide so many changes after the last redesign. However, now it’s time for some upgrades, including interior updates and visual refreshments. Navigator is a full-size luxury SUV full of premium features and materials. First spy photos are available and some changes are easy to spot. However, we can’t confirm if we are looking at the complete redesign.
Anyway, the new model will look even more stylish and we believe the interior will host more luxury than before. The ride quality is simply amazing and the Navigator model is using the independent rear suspension. A new high-performance model could be in the works as well. No doubts, exciting times are ahead of the Navigator SUV and the sales will begin in the last quarter of 2021.
2022 Navigator Spy Shots
The spy shots of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator are showing most of the cosmetic upgrades. As always before, the biggest changes will happen upfront. Still, we can’t confirm if this is a redesign or mid-cycle facelift with a couple of major upgrades. Anyway, the front section comes with a wider grille and the grille will sit higher than always before.
Headlights are getting a redesign, which is visible on the spy shots, but we couldn’t see what’s going on with the lower fascia. The side profile is also a mystery, but we can assume the Lincoln will provide sharper boy lines. In the back, the Navigator SUV will gain a more modern look with thinner taillights and a modified bumper. New exterior paints are a possibility, along with the new and even more stylish wheels.
New and Larger Touchscreen
The interior of the 2022 Lincoln Navigator will introduce more premium materials and some new tech features. For a start, a larger infotainment touchscreen is the highlight of interior updates. The current 10-inch unit is gone, but all we know is that the new display is larger. It is a horizontally-placed touchscreen that should deliver a better interface and some new systems.
Comfort is already great as the Navigator SUV is full of luxury. However, Lincoln will try to improve that with new upholstery. New safety aids will be optional and the Black Label trim level will offer almost every feature as standard. The cabin design won’t change significantly and the seating layout will remain intact.
Current Engine Remains
Under the hood, the new 2022 Lincoln Navigator should offer the same 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engine. It is a twin-turbo gasoline engine that develops 450 hp. According to some reports, this engine could gain slightly more power, but this doesn’t make sense in our opinion. Anyway, the new engine is not on the cards.
However, electrifying the Navigator SUV makes a lot more sense. While it is too early for the all-electric variant, a hybrid powertrain is the most logical choice. On top of that, Navigator could also gain a high-performance model, such as Raptor. This is still just a rumor, but the manufacturer will reveal more details in the coming months.
2022 Lincoln Navigator Release Date, Price
The 2022 Lincoln Navigator could cost more than its predecessor, but this price increase will be minor. New model will cost below $80,000, while the Black Label trim costs around $100,000. Lincoln will launch the Navigator SUV by the end of 2021.
