After mid-cycle improvements in 2021, new 2022 Cadillac XT4 model will introduce minor changes. The XT4 is a luxury crossover with so much to offer. It comes with a very stylish design and an incredibly premium interior. Thanks to numerous trim levels, you can choose models with more luxury or sportiness. Speaking of which, the new XT4 and its Sport trim level will arrive without current red brake calipers.
While this isn’t such a big issue, customers who really liked red-painted brakes will be disappointed for sure. As before, Cadillac XT4 will provide impressive safety ratings and we also expect to see new safety aids. Nothing will change under the hood and the sales will begin at some point in the second half of 2021.
Sport Trim Level Comes With More Drastic Changes
The forthcoming 2022 Cadillac XT4 will introduce a minor facelift. The XT4 model will remain a compact crossover with a premium design. Cadillac delivers a very stylish approach with attractive exterior features. There is no need for significant changes at the moment so minor updates are perfectly reasonable.
The biggest upgrades will happen on the Sport trim level. As we mentioned, Cadillac said the red brake calipers won’t be on offer anymore. This comes as a huge surprise, so we don’t know how Cadillac will benefit from such a radical move. Moreover, the Sport variant comes with a new Active Sport Suspension system. The stylish design highlighted by a larger grille, recognizable headlights, and impressive alloy wheels will remain.
Interior Refreshments
The interior should introduce more updates than the exterior. Thanks to that, the 2022 Cadillac XT4 will offer an even more premium cabin design. Interestingly, the XT4 is the brand’s most affordable crossover. However, the level of comfort is astonishing and the XT4 model comes with plenty of modern features. The cabin is surprisingly spacious for such a small model. There will be room for five occupants and this model provides almost 50.0 cubic feet of cargo room.
An eight-inch touchscreen is standard, like in the current XT4 model. Moreover, Cadillac offers standard Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, remote start, and power-adjustable front seats. If you want even more luxury, upper trim levels can be had with leather seats, wood trims, additional safety aids, and GM’s brand-new Super Cruise hands-free system.
Current Engine Remains Intact
The upcoming 2022 Cadillac XT4 will continue to offer the same engine as its predecessor. It is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine with 237 horsepower. On top of that, this engine develops 258 lb-ft of torque. A nine-speed automatic transmission is on offer, along with the standard front-wheel-drive. Optionally, you can buy an all-wheel-drive.
Some reports are predicting more power for XT4, which seems like the very likely outcome. The XT4 crossover is the only Cadillac model sold in Europe. This version comes with a 2.0-liter inline-four turbodiesel engine and it generates 174 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque.
2022 Cadillac XT4 Release Date, Price
The price of the all-new 2022 Cadillac XT4 will once again start at $36,500. The sales will begin this summer and the XT4 model will rival smaller crossovers such as Audi Q3, Volvo XC40, and Mercedes GLA-Class.
