The upcoming 2022 Audi Q2 is getting a lot of refreshments This small crossover SUV will gain a new look and upgraded interior. Audi will deliver a lot of technology updates and revised trim levels. The compact crossover is present for three years and it is the brand’s smallest crossover at the moment.
The e-Tron variant is on the cards, but we expect for Audi to announce more details in the coming weeks. Reportedly, the new Q2 model will arrive this October, in Europe. As for North America, Q2 will become available in the first quarter of 2022.
Audi Q2 Facelift
The 2022 Audi Q2 will hit the markets with numerous styling changes. This model gained improved bodywork and a new lighting system. The lower front grille is completely new and it looks closer to the lower grille on A1 and A4 models. Generally, the design is refreshed, but we can’t call it a redesign. Instead, Audi opted for a mid-cycle facelift, which is a good thing.
The rear section won’t suffer drastic changes either, but the Q2 crossover will deliver new exterior colors. All trim levels will get unique updates. For an instance, the range-topping trim level offers new Matrix LED adaptive headlights. The S line and Black Edition variants are available with dark finishes and impressive 19-inch alloy wheels.
On the inside, the new 2022 Audi Q2 is also updated. Again, each trim level comes with unique updates. The trim levels are impressive, even the entry-level variant. We especially like the Black Edition model with a new 12.3-inch Virtual Cockpit and 8.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Moreover, this edition comes with a rotary controller, a new voice control system, and rear parking sensors.
Audi will add a lot of safety aids, including adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitors, and a semi-autonomous parking system. If you want more luxury, range-topping trim levels are available with the Nappa leather upholstery, B&O sound system, and panoramic sunroof.
Numerous Engine Options
The 2022 Audi Q2 comes with numerous engine options. The entry-level Q2 offers a smaller 1.0-liter engine with 116 horsepower, which isn’t a lot, even for the subcompact crossover. However, this unit delivers impressive fuel economy ratings. If you want more power, a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine develops 195 horsepower. Even a 2.0-liter diesel engine should become available and it will generate more torque than the gasoline variants.
A 1.5-liter TFSI gasoline engine is another option and it comes with the cylinder deactivation system. Some sort of hybrid version is reportedly in the works, but the Q2 e-Tron will be the highlight of the 2022MY. This variant comes with an all-electric powertrain and it will reportedly provide 300 miles of driving range. However, Audi is yet to reveal more details.
2022 Audi Q2 Price, Release Date
The forthcoming 2022 Audi Q2 will start at around $32,500. The price is increased, but we are still waiting for official prices, including the hybrid and all-electric variant. As we said, the Q2 crossover will go on sale this October in Europe. This model will be launched in the United States in the first quarter of 2022.
