The upcoming 2021 Renault Arkana is a new SUV that will replace the Kadjar model. Renault officially confirmed the new Arkana model that will become available in Europe. Like Kadjar, Arkana will arrive as a compact SUV that will slot between Captur and Koleos variants. Whatsoever, Arkana will be launched in Australia at some point in 2021.
While Kadjar is a Qashqai-based model, Arkana is a coupe-like SUV that comes with a more distinctive design. Renault Australia already confirmed the pricing of the new Arkana SUV. This model will target the Mazda CX-30 and Kia Seltos, and its price starts at around $20k. Here’s what you can expect from the Arkana and what this model has to offer.
2021 Arkana Gets Coupe-Like Appearance
New 2021 Renault Arkana is an SUV that looks both modern and stylish. As we said, it looks more distinctive than the Kadjar variant that will Arkana replace. Styling is recognizable, and Renault won’t deliver anything brand-new or unique. Arkana hosts similar or the same exterior features as some other brand’s SUVs. For a start, the front fascia sports slim LED headlights and a familiar grille.
In our opinion, Arkana looks better than Kadjar and Captur models. It comes with an attractive design and beautiful choice of exterior colors. A bumper-mounted plate is something new, and the rear part hosts a full length LED light strip. The side profile hosts very stylish 19-inch alloy wheels, and it comes with beautiful lines and creases.
Interior Features
The interior of the 2021 Renault Arkana looks more unique, and it offers plenty of modern stuff. Renault did more than a good job in terms of cabin layout and interior room. Comfort is great, and Arkana is a very practical SUV. The layout of buttons and controls is simple and easy to use. There is room for five passengers, and the interior is tech-rich. French manufacturer offers upscale materials, but Arkana is still far from a premium SUV.
The dashboard looks clean, and it hosts a 9.3-inch touchscreen. Moreover, the Bose audio system is available, along with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ambient lighting and a panoramic sunroof are optional in the base Arkana variant. The top-spec model will offer fully digital instrument cluster, leather upholstery, and all sort of luxury.
Engine Specs
The forthcoming 2021 Renault Arkana is mechanically similar to the Dacia Duster. Two models are using the same architecture that provides a standard front-wheel-drive system. There will be two available engine options. Standard powertrain choice is a small 1.3-liter gasoline engine with 148 horsepower.
Optionally, a 1.6-liter gasoline with 115 hp is available. Whatsoever, the same engine is available in the new Duster model. Renault said the Arkana would offer both manual and automatic gearbox options. However, we still don’t know if Arkana will arrive with a CVT or a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
2021 Renault Arkana Price and Release Date
New 2021 Renault Arkana is a five-seat SUV that looks attractive and modern. It provides good comfort, and its price starts at about $20,000. Arkana will look to rival Kia Seltos and Mazda CX-30 that are less affordable options at the moment.
