One of the most popular models in the middle-size SUV segment 2021 Nissan X-Trail aka Rogue has been caught testing in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The new model from the first spy photos indicates that will host plenty of changes and upgrades. Unfortunately, the spied model is wearing a lot of camouflage and is hard to see all the changes. The 2021 Nissan X-Trail engine range is carried over from predecessor. Besides similar design, the Nissan X-Trail and Nissan Rogue will be offered with different outputs. The Rogue comes with 2.5-liter and 2.0-liter turbo-four engines.

However, according to the latest info, the X-Trail will keep the same range of engines. There will be few of them. The 1.6-liter dCi diesel is the first one choice and this engine makes 128 HP. The next one is 1.6-liter DIG-T petrol that is able to produce 161 HP. Also, more powerful 2.0-liter dCi that delivers 172 HP is still the strongest engine. The first two engines will be available with the six-speed manual transmission, while 2.0-liter dCi comes with the CVT automatic transmissions.

Hybrid Engine Rumors

The X-Trail will also get a hybrid engine as per speculations. The manufacturer will use the same unique hybrid system that powers the Rogue model. According to the numerous reports, the X-Trail Hybrid will consist of a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor that together produce 176 horsepower. This model will come with Nissan’s continuously variable Xtronic automatic transmission.

Price and Release Date

The forthcoming 2021 Nissan X-Trail will be redesigned and it will provide a stronger look. So, we can expect that the new crossover will cost more than current one model.

Estimated price may deviate from the final price. However, according to the rumors, it will be in the range from $24,000 to $26,000. This model will be available in Europe and Asia at the same time, and we can expect Nissan X-Trail in the second half of 2020.
