Third-Gen 2021 Nissan Rogue Spotted With a Redesign

New 2021 Nissan Rogue has been caught on cameras. This time, three prototypes were spotted and are providing a much better look than the previous spy photos. As we expected, the new Rogue/X-Trail model will feature split headlights, something similar that you can see on the new Juke model.

It is the third-gen Rogue and it will go on sale later next year. On top of that, its sibling X-Trail is available on other continents, mainly Europe and Asia. The 2021 model is still quite a mystery, at least in terms of interior changes and possible new powertrain options.

2021 Rogue Spy Shots

The upcoming 2021 Nissan Rogue has been spied, once again. This time, the spy shots are providing a better look at the exterior design. Just like we anticipated, a new model will introduce split headlights. The same headlights are available on the all-new Nissan Juke model. Speaking of headlights, it seems like Nissan is trying to deliver Hyundai’s innovative design as the units are very similar.

The front fascia is redesigned and iconic V-Motion grille reaches deeper towards the front bumper and lower grille. This grille is placed horizontally, and the front part looks very dynamics and sharp. The sloping roof looks subtle and beautiful while the rear end comes with new horizontal LED taillights. On top of that, the roof spoiler is larger.

Interior Details

The all-new 2021 Nissan Rogue will surely hit the dealerships with numerous interior upgrades. Unfortunately, spy shots failed to provide exact interior changes. However, a larger infotainment touchscreen is easy to spot. It sits at the top of the centre console and a full-digital instrument panel.

The electronic shifter is visible on the centre tunnel and Terrain Selection dial is also easy to see. The dashboard will look cleaner in 2021 and you can expect new high-tech amenities. That includes additional driver-assistance systems and Rogue will offer a longer list of standard features.

Will Rogue Borrow an Engine From Altima Sedan?

The new-generation 2021 Nissan Rogue will most likely introduce a new engine. The current model is using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and is producing 170 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, Rogue Hybrid is available and it combines a 2.0-liter with the electric motor. Total output is rated at 176 hp. More importantly, the hybrid version delivers 33 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway.

The most likely outcome for 2021 Rogue is to borrow the engine from Nissan Altima sedan. That means another 2.5-liter could be in the offer. However, Altima’s four-cylinder generates 188 hp and it comes with a CVT transmission.

2021 Nissan Rogue Price and Release Date

The third-gen 2021 Nissan Rogue will surely get a small jump in price. The current model starts at $24,000 and a new one will be priced at $25,000 or slightly over that. Sport version costs $30,000 and Rogue Hybrid carries the same price. New Rogue will go on sale in the second half of 2020. On top of that, X-Trail SUV is basically the same and it is available in Europe and Asia.
