The return is happening later this year, and we won’t see speculated two-door sports coupe. That’s exactly the reason why Mitsu added the suffix “Cross” to the name “Eclipse.”
As we can see, the first spy shots are showing numerous refreshments and a couple of interesting upgrades. Eclipse Cross will remain a compact crossover, and it will offer a room for five. No doubts, Mitsubishi created a very unique and modern crossover-SUV with pleasing interior design. While we don’t have information about possible engine changes, Eclipse Cross should largely remain.

The latest spy shots of the 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross are finally available. On the same photos, we can see plenty of refreshments and numerous novelties that are very interesting. The front end is almost the same as the current model. However, little tweaks on the headlights and taillights are looking incredible. The current model wears the two-window layout. However, the new Eclipse Cross will arrive with one larger rear window.
The spoiler with an integrated LED strip is gone, and taillights are now placed horizontally. This styling cue makes this crossover wider than it actually is. The side skirts are also redesigned, and rear bumper diffuser looks slightly larger. Lastly, a new roof spoiler is available, and it looks huge. This crossover is currently available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. However, depending on the market, you can go for the 2.2-liter diesel engine. However, diesel is not available in the United States. New 2021 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross will most likely continue with the same engine lineup. For that reason, don’t expect any type of change under the bonnet.
The new electrified powertrain is a very likely outcome, but for the 2022 model. Until then, this crossover is producing 152 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque via a gasoline engine. Moreover, Eclipse Cross is rated at 27 mpg combined, and it can tow 1,500 pounds.
