2021 Mazda CX-30 Gets Minor Changes

The upcoming 2021 Mazda CX-30 is coming with minor updates. Whatsoever, Mazda introduced its crossover last year. This model is fresh, so significant changes are not on the cards. CX-30 is a subcompact crossover, smaller than the compact CX-5.

The crossover looks very modern and attractive. Whatsoever, the interior is also modern, and it provides a high level of comfort. Everything looks so stylish and unique, and the performance is more than solid. The price will remain intact, and Mazda will launch new CX-30 later in 2020.

2021 CX-30 is a Carryover in Terms of Design

For a start, CX-30 is not a replacement for the similar CX-3 model. The forthcoming 2021 Mazda CX-30 is not a replacement. It is a model with its own and unique design. Visually, CX-30 comes with a wider headlight and a more striking design. The crossover wears a stylish dark-mesh grille, and the front fascia looks sleek.

We like the additional body cladding very much. CX-3 is longer by 4.7 inches and 1.1 inches wider. Its wheelbase is 3.3 inches longer. As we said, CX-30 won’t introduce major improvements, and it will be a carryover model in terms of styling.

Interior Upgrades

On the inside, the new 2021 Mazda CX-30 comes with a cleaner interior design. The buttons and knobs are smaller than in the other Mazda’s crossovers and SUVs. It is a unique cabin with a tri-post steering wheel and a new infotainment system. The infotainment display sits higher on the dash, and CX-30 adds more soft-touch materials.

The cabin is similar to the CX-9 model, and it only looks downsized. Again, changes are minor, and the Japanese manufacturer will only update its high-tech features. Mazda will improve the sound insulation, and it will provide superb ride quality.

Engine Specs and MPG

The approaching 2021 Mazda CX-30 won’t introduce a new engine option. This crossover arrived last year, so the new model is a clear carryover. That means a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine is available once again. This output cranks out 186 horsepower. Some other markets will offer an optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder that uses Mazda’s SkyActiv-X compression system. Both engines are offering great fuel efficiency, and the front-wheel-drive system is offered as standard.

The AWD setup will be optional, just like in the outgoing model. This crossover delivers 25 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. That makes it 28 mpg combined. That means Honda HR-V is still the leader in the segment, while Mazda CX-30 sits above the Toyota CH-R model. Lastly, CX-30 comes with a six-speed automatic transmission.

2021 Mazda CX-30 Release Date and Price

The price of the brand-new 2021 Mazda CX-30 won’t change. That means the subcompact crossover will cost $23,000. Upper trim levels will require around $30,000 or slightly above that.

The Japanese automaker will release its new model by the end of 2020. However, this model will arrive in the United States in the first quarter of 2021. As for the competition, CX-30 will rival Ford EcoSport, Chevy Trax, and Honda HR-V.
