Lincoln is working on its newest luxury SUV, and it will now provide its first plug-in hybrid option. The upcoming 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring offers better performance, more features, and it looks genuinely unique. Corsair is the company’s newest model, and now it is time for electrification.
Lincoln confirmed this and said the Grand Touring Corsair completes the family of SUVs for every client. Interestingly, but Grand Touring is not Lincoln’s first plug-in hybrid version as we already saw a new Aviator Grand Touring model.
A 2.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine will work in combination with the electric motor. The upcoming 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring will also deploy a battery pack and the electronic AWD system. Whatsoever, this system is first in its segment. Total output is rated at 266 horsepower.
However, these figures are not proven yet, but Lincoln promises it, along with the 25 miles of all-electric range. This crossover will also offer a PowerSplit electric CVT transmission. Two motors/generators are working together and are providing a smooth ride.
2021 Corsair Grand Touring Drive Modes
New 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring also comes with driving modes such as Normal, Excite, Conserve, and Slippery. Each mode is fully integrated, and the car itself takes care of the rest. Two additional modes are available as well. For a start, Preserve EV will save the battery power and will use both engine and motor at the same time. The high-voltage battery can be recharged up to 75 percent, which is another innovating technology.
Corsair Grand Touring offers a Pure EV model as well. This mode is designed to keep the driver in all-electric mode in various conditions. Should the demand exceed electric power, a hybrid engine will engage and provide additional strength. Lastly, Deep Conditions mode is one the list too.
Interior Comfort and Tech Features
The interior of the regular Corsair crossover looks impressive. Grand Touring comes with an even better interior. The main reason is electric powertrain that makes the cabin so quiet. The forthcoming 2021 Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring will also provide additional sound-insulating materials. The active Noise Control system is using microphones in order to enhance overall sound quality. The interior room is another thing you shouldn’t be worried about. On top of that, storage space is generous too. Sliding second-row seats will open up more room in the back. Moreover, an under-floor battery package will also maximize legroom and luggage space.
Front seats are 24-way adjustable and are available with the massaging feature. Lumbar support is also available. Corsair Ground Touring will also provide numerous high-tech features and safety aids. That includes a couple of intuitive technologies such as Phone As A Key system. With this app, you can lock or unlock the car, open the liftgate, or even start the vehicle. Finally, there is a Lincoln Co-Pilot360 system that adds numerous driver-assistance features.
