Interior Lacks Modern Features
Lexus offers premium interior design. However, this crossover lacks many modern high-tech features. Whatsoever, the 2021 Lexus RX 450h does not offer Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and onboard Wi-Fi. Moreover, its Enform infotainment system is difficult to use. On the other hand, an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen looks good, but a 12.3-inch display that is optional is the real deal. Lexus provides a standard 12-speaker sound system and various driver-assistance aids.
The RX 450h model is full of leather materials and wood trims. There is plenty of room on the inside, and comfort is admirable. For 2021, this crossover will get new interior color schemes. That includes Ultra White and Grecian Water colors that are part of the Black Line Special Edition package.
Hybrid Specs
The RX lineup offers various type of engines. While models such as RX 350 are using 3.5-liter V6, new 2021 Lexus RX 450h comes with the same V6, and it adds two electric motors. Thanks to that, the hybrid variant provides 308 horsepower compared to the RX 350 model that generates 295 hp. A potent V6 is mated to a 123-kW electric motor and a battery pack.
According to Lexus, new RX 450h will provide over 31 mpg combined. That makes hybrid crossover a good long-distance runner. However, this model lacks good acceleration as it can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in seven seconds flat.
2021 Lexus RX 450h Release Date, Price
The forthcoming 2021 Lexus RX 450h will start at $52,000. Moreover, the 450h Luxury L model will cost $57,000. To compare, the base RX 350 model is available for 45,000 and F Sport variant for $49,000. If you are looking for a good crossover with great fuel efficiency, RX 450h might be the answer. Lexus plans to launch its new model by the end of 2020.
