The upcoming 2021 Land Rover Range Rover has been spied once again. It is happening for the second time in the last couple of months. This time, the prototype is showing additional changes in terms of exterior design. Unfortunately, the interior photos are not available. The 2021 Range Rover will arrive with significant changes.
One of the most drastic changes will be the all-new platform. According to numerous reports, this SUV will get a hybrid powertrain. That also means you can expect additional mechanical modifications. Land Rover will release its luxury SUV later this year.
2021 Range Rover Spy Shots
The forthcoming 2021 Land Rover Range Rover has been spied again. This time, we are looking at the prototype with a stretched wheelbase and larger rear doors. We are not sure how likely it is, but this could be some sort of special edition. If not, then this is a significant change for this luxury SUV. Camouflage hides most of the exterior features but it can’t hide a recognizable boxy shape. New headlights and taillights are available but both units were fully concealed by the camo. The rear spoiler is also visible under the disguise, just like the rear wiper underneath it.
It seems the all-new Range Rover will feature cleaner look and styling is new. The new platform is official but it seems the size of these SUV remains unchanged. New architecture will also underpin the Range Rover Sport version. It is a Modular Longitudinal Architecture (MLA). Thanks to that, expect extensive use of aluminum and of course, a hybrid powertrain. Even the all-electric variant could happen in the near future.
Land Rover will offer some sort of electrifications for sure. At this moment, the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover will get a hybrid version rather than the all-electric variant. However, the electric version should arrive in the coming years. As for the Range Rover Hybrid, it will be a plug-in variant for sure. It is said the combination of electric rear axle and a four-cylinder engine will happen.
This setup will provide a standard AWD system with a driving range of 31 miles. Once it arrives, this model will rival Bentley Bentayga. In order to do that, Land Rover will switch from its 4.4-liter V8 to BMW’s 5.0-liter displacement. You can expect a significant performance boost, around 500 horsepower.
2021 Land Rover Range Rover Price and Release Date
Don’t expect the price to carry over. The current model starts at $90,000. The all-new 2021 Land Rover Range Rover will surely cost slightly more, closer to $95,000. On the other hand, its SVAutobiorgaphy model will exceed $200,000. As for Range Rover PHEV, this model will rival new Bentley Bentayga.
If the reports are correct, this version will deliver more power and capability over its rivals. There it is, a spied 2021 Range Rover with numerous modifications and a plug-in hybrid system. The race for the best luxury-SUV continues and we are waiting for official vehicle’s specs.
