Fresh design is just a beginning. The interior will also suffer drastic refinements as well. However, a new platform and a possible hybrid powertrain are the essential updates. Besides that, Land Rover will most likely offer a new four-cylinder engine as well.
2021 Range Rover Sport Exterior Redesign
Most of the automakers are introducing new-gen models every five to six years. However, Land Rover likes to push the cycle as much as possible. Now, the 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport should begin the new one. Whatsoever, this SUV was lastly redesigned in 2014. If the reports are correct, the new model will arrive with less weight. The HSE trim comes with a 13-speaker sound system, panoramic sunroof, hands-free liftgate, and leather upholstery.
The Range Rover Sport HST is the sportier version with blacked-out exterior features, sunroof, wheel-mounted shift paddles, and sporty seats. Autobiography adds more equipment than the HST, and it is the most luxurious trim level. Upgraded leather, power-closing doors, top safety rating, and heated steering wheel are all standard. Lastly, SVR is the high-performance version that adds a sport-tuned suspension, performance tires, and unique exterior and interior accents. Keep in mind that the third-row is optional on all trim levels. However, the seven-seat version is available on all levels except the HST and SVR.
Wide Range Of Available Engines
The upcoming 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport will offer a wide range of engine options. Most of the units are paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission and are equipped with a standard four-wheel-drive setup. The most popular choice is a six-cylinder turbocharged engine. It comes with an auxiliary compressor driver by the 48-volt all-electric system. This output is rated at 355 hp and 365 lb-ft of torque. However, on the HST trim, this engine is producing 395 hp and 406 lb-ft of torque.
You can also choose a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine that generates 254 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of twisting power. As for the new plug-in hybrid option, this SUV will provide a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine in combination with a 105-kW motor. Together, they can produce 398 horses and 472 lb-ft of torque. Hybrid can achieve 22 miles on all-electric power, and charging on a 220-volt supply takes less than three hours. Finally, 5.0-liter V8 power the SVR trim level, and it cranks out 575 hp and 516 lb-ft of twists.
2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Price and Release Date
The next-generation 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Sport will go on sale in the last quarter of 2020. Some reports are even suggesting the beginning of 2021 as the possible release date. The new model will get a small jump in price. The base trim level will cost around $70,000, while the SVR variant is priced at $120,000.
