The all-new 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport is officially unveiled. Before that, we saw plenty of spy shots of the prototype with heavy camo. There were a lot of speculations about this SUV in the last couple of months. Now, this model is basically an official and the latest batch of spy images is showing the prototype without any camouflage.
All of the updates are visible at first glance, which is great. The 2021 Discovery Sport will be the next-gen model and it will introduce significant upgrades. That includes refreshed looks, new technologies inside the cabin, and a mild-hybrid powertrain option. The price is slightly increased for 2021 and Discovery SUV will go on sale by the end of 2020.
2021 Discovery Sport Spy Photos
The facelift of the new 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport has been shown a few weeks ago. This SUV has been spied for numerous times but the latest reveal shows us the latest visual upgrades. Discovery Sport is completely uncovered and it looks sportier than the outgoing model. The boxy shape remains but the styling is more impressive and more modern.
The front fascia comes with reworked headlights and a refreshed grille. The rear part will get the same treatment of the taillights. We like new bodylines that are sharper than before. If you want more sportiness, go for the R-Dynamic package that delivers monochrome lower-body elements, unique wheels, and additional black accents.
The interior will take a different approach and it won’t introduce so sporty upgrades. The cabin of the 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport will gain a cleaner and more upright look. Discovery Sport is a more premium variant than the base trim level so it comes with more high-quality materials. On top of that, this SUV will offer more tech. The third-row is optional, so Discovery remains a five-seat SUV unless you decide to buy a seven-seat variant.
A 10-inch touchscreen is standard and it comes with updated infotainment and better graphics. Features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and navigation are all offered as standard too. The digital instrument cluster looks great and hopefully, the interior will gain more advanced driver-assistance aids.
New Mild-Hybrid Powertrain Option
A new engine is a possibility for the new 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport. According to the latest reports, a mild-hybrid variant is in the works. It is a gasoline-hybrid mix that will be available in the Black Edition model. New powertrain will produce up to 290 horsepower. The diesel engine could also be coupled with a mild-hybrid system so we should expect higher torque figures and improved fuel efficiency.
Discovery SUV can tow 4,400 pounds at the moment. No doubt, towing capacity will be significantly improved as well. Besides the mentioned hybrid variant, Discovery Sport will offer the same gasoline engines with 163 hp and 204 hp.
2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport Price and Release Date
The price of the forthcoming 2021 Land Rover Discovery Sport will start below $40,000. However, the exact price is something that we are waiting to hear in the coming weeks. The approaching SUV will go on sale by the end of the year and its sportier R-Dynamic S version will arrive as well. This version will cost around $65,000.
