The forthcoming 2021 Kia Soul is a sleek crossover SUV that will arrive with further upgrades. However, the changes are far from significant. Soul is a spacious model with modern interior and attractive exterior design. Interestingly, Kia Soul is on top of the list in various categories. It is a unique model with plenty of engine options and trim levels.
A fun-to-drive crossover SUV will rival Toyota C-HR and Hyundai Kona models. However, last year’s redesign means the 2021 Soul will offer a couple of minor updates. The sales will start by the end of the summer.
2021 Soul Looks Unique
For some people, Kia Soul looks odd. In our honest opinion, the crossover looks unique and innovative. After the last year’s redesign, new 2021 Kia Soul will get minor updates only. The design looks to refresh and recognizable. The boxy shape remains, just like the vehicle’s dimensions. New images are showing a slight improvement on the front fascia. The nose looks more modern on all trim levels.
The base model rides on 16-inch steel wheels, and if you want more sportiness, go for the GT-Line variant. This version comes with a more athletic stance and additional red accents. The design looks more aggressive, and GT-Line comes with unique wheels and exterior paints.
The interior of the 2021 Kia Soul won’t change that much. The cabin is upscale and boxy shape increases passenger and cargo room. This crossover SUV is friendly, and the comfort is at a high level. There will be two rows of seats, and there is room for five passengers. Behind the rear seats, there are 24.2 cubic feet of cargo space. The use of high-quality materials is good, especially in the upper trim levels.
The LX trim comes with standard cloth upholstery and a 7-inch touchscreen. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are also offered as standard. Upper trim levels are providing smart key access, a larger 10-25-inch display and a push-button start system. For 2021, Soul will arrive with additional driver-assistance features.
Engine Specs, Soul EV
The all-new 2021 Kia Soul offers numerous powertrain options. There will be three available engines, and a 2.0-liter four-cylinder is offered as standard. It provides 147 hp and 132 lb-ft of torque. This variant comes with a CVT transmission, and it is a fuel-efficient engine. The GT-Line model is equipped with a 1.6-liter turbo-four engine that comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Furthermore, it generates 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of twisting power. Soul EV is also in the offer, which is excellent news. The electric model uses a 64-kWh liquid-cooled battery pack, and it comes with a DC fast-charging ability. It can produce 201 horses and up to 291 lb-ft of torque. According to Kia, Soul EV will deliver 243 of the driving range.
2021 Kia Soul Price and Release Date
Once again, Soul crossover will cost below $20,000. The 2021 Kia Soul should start at around $18,500. On the other hand, Soul EV will cost over $30,000. As we said, Kia Soul will compete with Toyota C-HR, Honda HR-V and Hyundai Kona.
