The all-new 2021 Jeep Compass is about to introduce its latest changes. That includes an exterior facelift and some noticeable changes on the inside. Of course, the highlight of the new Compass is FCA’s newest Uconnect5 infotainment system. Besides that, Compass SUV will offer a hybrid powertrain as well. According to Jeep, a hybrid powertrain will also offer more than solid off-road capability.
Still, Jeep won’t introduce a complete redesign. Compass will gain mid-cycle refreshments so expect numerous minor upgrades. We hope the 2021 Compass will reach the dealerships by the end of the year. As you probably know, the COVID-19 outbreak forced basically every manufacturer to delay all of the plans.
2021 Compass Exterior Refresh
Visually, the new 2021 Jeep Compass won’t suffer a lot of changes. This SUV already wears a relatively fresh design. Moreover, its design is very similar to the design of the Grand Cherokee SUV. You should expect the same appearance with minor exterior updates. Still, recognizable angular headlights and seven-slot grille are dominating the front part.
To the sides, Compass comes with trapezoidal fender flares and beautiful lines. The roof paint job is available once again and it looks amazing. The rear part should largely remain. If you want a more premium appearance, Jeep offers a Limited trim level. On the other hand, the Trailhawk variant is for those who seek something wilder and more aggressive.
The upcoming 2021 Jeep Compass will arrive with more interior updates. The base trim level offers a 7-inch touchscreen once again. However, upper trim levels are offering a standard 8.4-inch unit. Compass will also introduce new driver-assistance systems and more safety equipment.
However, all of the novelties are optional in the entry-level trims. Cabin design won’t change and even the interior layout is the same. With no dimensional changes, 2021 Compass will offer the same interior room as its predecessor.
New Infotainment System
Besides the hybrid powertrain, the new Uconnect5 infotainment system is the highlight of this model. The 2021 Jeep Compass will feature new FCA’s system and the manufacturer claims it is a five times faster software than the current one. If that happens to be true, then Compass will surely attract more customers than before. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are available once again.
Moreover, an integrated Amazon Alexa support is also in the offer. The new system offers a 6G RAM and 64G of storage. You can even create custom pages with new one-touch access and much more. We are still not sure if the carmaker will redesign the dashboard in order to integrate a larger infotainment display.
2021 Jeep Compass Hybrid
A hybrid powertrain is on the way. The 2021 Jeep Compass Hybrid is certain and it will be a plug-in hybrid version. FCA will combine its 1.3-liter turbo-four with electric motors and battery pack. Electric motors will power the rear wheels and this output should generate about 240 hp.
A driving range is a mystery, but expect around 31 miles of all-electric range. Besides that, Compass offers the same 2.4-liter four-cylinder with 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The customers can still choose between a six-speed manual and nine-speed automatic transmission.
Release Date and Price
A new model was supposed to arrive later this year. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, FCA could delay the arrival of a new 2021 Jeep Compass. Thanks to that, this SUV will most likely arrive at the beginning of the next year. Its price will now start at $32,000 and Compass will rival models such as Honda CR-V and Ford Escape.
