Spied 2021 Hyundai Tucson Looks Similar to the Vision T Concept

The forthcoming 2021 Hyundai Tucson will go on sale in the second half of 2020. Yesterday, a new batch of spy shots arrived and we found out more about Hyundai’s new crossover. South Korean manufacturer teased us with the Vision T Concept. According to numerous car experts, new Tucson will be based on the very same concept.

Moreover, all the company’s vehicles will be based on the same design language. According to new spy photos, Tucson is no exception. On top of that, Tucson has been spotted in Germany and new videos are available as well. Still, the interior is quite a mystery, besides the possible drivetrain options.

Vision T Concept hinted Hyundai’s new design language that will be applied to the company’s new SUVs and crossovers. The upcoming 2021 Hyundai Tucson is just one of the models that will get a new design language. Whatsoever, new Tucson will be the new-gen model so we can expect numerous upgrades in every department.

Tucson’s prototype appeared in Germany, and things are looking clearer now. This SUV already looks attractive and new-gen Tucson will look even better. The goal is to deliver a modern appearance that is also more competitive. We are still waiting for Tucson to take its clothes off and show the latest exterior changes.

The Concept

Hyundai’s latest Vision T Concept made its debut at the 2019 LA Auto Show. It represents the company’s new design language and the direction of the Korean manufacturer. The 2021 Hyundai Tucson will be based on this concept, and that is a good thing. The concept wears an astonishing headlight+grille combo and it looks very impressive. Vision T is 181.5 inches long and 79.3 inches wide.

If Tucson arrives with the same dimensions as the concept, then expect a slightly larger SUV in 2021. Whatsoever, Tucson is 5 inches shorter than the concept at the moment. We must say that Vision T is one of the best concepts we’ve seen in 2019 and there is a good reason why you should be excited for new 2021 Tucson.

Powertrain Options

Unfortunately, we can’t tell what’s under the hood of the 2021 Hyundai Tucson. Current model rides on a 2.0-liter engine that delivers 165 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. On top of that, a 2.4-liter is available, and it generates 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. This SUV lacks a dual-clutch or CVT automatic transmission at the moment. The new model could get one of these two gearbox types.

Hyundai will also offer a high-performance Tucson N version. However, the highlight of the all-new Tucson should be a hybrid powertrain. Still, the Korean manufacturer is silent on this matter. As for Europe, customers can expect the arriving Tucson with a 1.6-liter turbodiesel engine.

2021 Hyundai Tucson Price and Release Date

Spied prototype almost looks like the final form of the 2021 Hyundai Tucson. We are still waiting to see interior details and, of course, engine lineup. According to the latest reports, new Tucson won’t arrive before the second half of 2020. The price will start somewhere between $25,000 and $30,000.
