The upcoming 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe N is about to arrive. It is a high-performance SUV that makes a real standout. New Santa Fe was unveiled last month, and it rides on its third-generation platform. According to Hyundai, new Santa Fe comes with better fuel efficiency, better handling, and stronger performances. As for the “N” variant, we should expect a significant improvement in terms of power.
Hyundai’s “N” division arrived three years ago, and it became a huge success. The brand already offers i30 N and Veloster N variants. Santa Fe is the next model to get the same treatment. It will add sportiness and aggressiveness. Whatsoever, Kona and Tucson are also in line to get the “N” version. The sales should begin later this year.
2021 Santa Fe N Styling
For a start, new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe N comes with the sportier appearance and additional aggressiveness. The front fascia hosts rose gold accents on the grille and in the center of the bumper. Moreover, lower chin spoiler will get the same accents. Hyundai opted for a carbon garnish on the hood.
The side profile shows striking 21-inch black wheels with faux carbon caps. The side skirts are looking more distinctive, and dual spoilers are just amazing. Spoilers are additionally stretched, and the rear part also shows quad tailpipes and carbon fiber diffuser. A set of roof racks is available, along with the “N” badging.
Sporty Interior
The sporty theme continues on the inside. The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe N comes with a distinctive interior with new first and second-row seats clad covered in black leather and with red contrast stitching. The front seats are using carbon fiber backs, and it looks astonishing. Hyundai also opted for a carbon fiber trims inside the cabin.
Thanks to that, carbon fiber is visible on the steering wheel, doors, and center console. We like new Alcantara upholstery, and generally, the cabin is just amazing. The N variant won’t ruin Santa Fe’s practicality, so some parts are remaining precisely the same. Lastly, there will be more standard driver-assistance features, so even the safety will be significantly improved.
New Turbocharged Engine
This is perhaps the biggest mystery that surrounds new 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe N. The high-performance SUV will most likely get a new powertrain option that will provide more power. However, there are a couple of possible candidates on the list. The base Santa Fe SUV comes with a 2.4-liter engine that provides 185 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque.
A 2.0-liter turbo is optional, and it generates 235 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. Now, the question is what to expect from the N division? The most likely outcome is a 2.5-liter turbocharged engine that will produce over 300 horsepower.
2021 Hyundai Santa Fe N Price and Release Date
The price is not available yet. However, regular Santa Fe SUV costs slightly below $30,000. That means the 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe N will cost over $40,000. On the other hand, mechanical parts are not announced yet, so the price remains a big mystery. The sales will begin this year, most likely in the last quarter. Lastly, it is not clear if the Santa Fe N SUV will be offered outside South Korea in its first year of production.
