2021 Hyundai Palisade: Changes, Interior, Release Date

The upcoming 2021 Hyundai Palisade is a mid-size three-row SUV. It replaces the Santa FE XL as the company’s most spacious crossover. Palisade is a very affordable SUV as it offers a lot for the money. The materials on the inside are upright which you wouldn’t expect for such an affordable model. That means even the base trim level is more than comfortable and modern.

Of course, Hyundai offers three trim levels and range-topping trim is a thing of luxury. It rides on a potent V6 gasoline engine and it provides good acceleration. Handling is great as well, and Palisade is generally a very good SUV. Here’s what Palisade has to offer for 2021.

2021 Hyundai Palisade changes

2021 Palisade Exterior Changes

The approaching 2021 Hyundai Palisade rides on the same platform as Kia Telluride. Thanks to that, this SUV has big proportions and it looks attractive. No matter which trim level you choose, Palisade will offer LED headlights and LED running lights. The grille comes with plenty of chrome accents and it looks stylish.

The SEL trim comes with larger 18-inch wheels that are more attractive than the wheels on the entry-level model. It is a good option in the mid-size SUV segment. Still, if you want to open your pockets, the Telluride version is slightly better. If not, Palisade provides plenty of equipment and it is a true family SUV.

Trim Levels

As we said, 2021 Hyundai Palisade is available in three trim levels. The SE, SEL, and Limited. The entry-level SE model comes with a more than solid list of standard amenities. That includes an 8-inch touchscreen, latest phone integrations, and five USB ports. Moreover, SE offers remote keyless entry, push-button ignition, rear parking sensors, and power-folding second-row bench seats. Still, SEL is more recommended in our opinion.

The customers will get leather-wrapped steering wheels, larger wheels, and dual-zone automatic climate control. Furthermore, Palisade SEL comes with power-adjustable features and more driving-assistance aids. Lastly, there is the range-topping Limited model. It is the most expensive variant for a reason. The cabin is luxurious as it offers premium leather upholstery and heated/ventilated seats. A head-up display, digital gauge cluster, and ambient lighting are also available.

Engine Specs

Nothing will change under the hood. New 2021 Hyundai Palisade comes with a 3.8-liter V6. It is the only engine option and it provides 291 horsepower. Moreover, this engine delivers 262 lb-ft of torque. Like the previous version, Palisade comes with the same eight-speed automatic transmission.

On top of that, Palisade is a front-wheel-drive model, just like Kia Telluride. Of course, an all-wheel-drive system will be optional as always before.

2021 Hyundai Palisade Release Date and Price

The arriving three-row SUV won’t cost more than its predecessor. That means the 2021 Hyundai Palisade starts at $31,000. On the other hand, the range-topping trim level will cost between $45,000 and $50,000.

Hyundai will release its new mid-size SUV later this year. As we said, it is a true family SUV with a room for seven passengers. The price remains affordable and we’d recommend Palisade to anyone.
