The forthcoming 2021 Honda Passport is going on sale by the end of the year. This SUV has been dubbed as “Baby Pilot” for a good reason. Two models are very similar, visually, and mechanically. The interior is almost the same, so Passport is a reliable and comfortable SUV. While smaller than the Pilot, Passport comes with more ground clearance.
Honda offers a long list of standard features and a potent V6 powertrain. Interior space is generous for such a small SUV, and the customers will enjoy great ride quality. There will be room for five passengers, and Passport will get a couple of minor refreshments for 2021.
2021 Passport – Exterior Upgrades and Colors

Instead, Honda will opt for mid-cycle refreshments. Visually, the Passport looks like the Honda Pilot, but it is significantly smaller. As we said, the Passport sits higher than the Pilot SUV, and it looks incredible. We like the blacked-out exterior trim that is also standard. New exterior paints are a possibility. This SUV comes with an exciting color palette. Steel Sapphire, Crystal Black, Lunar Silver, and the Black Forest are just some of the available exterior colors.
Interior Changes
The interior of the 2021 Honda Passport is very modern, and it provides a high level of comfort. The cabin is similar to the interior of the Honda Pilot. Some things are smaller, and the layout of the buttons is slightly different. However, we think the Passport SUV offers a high-quality cabin with plenty of modern amenities.
The interior is upright, even with the base trim level. The dashboard is clean and straightforward and it hosts nice soft-touch plastic materials. Air vents are finished in a very futuristic shape, and the steering wheel also hosts various controls. The leather-wrapped steering wheel is optional, just like the leather seats.
Engine Specs and MPG
The upcoming 2021 Honda Passport comes with a standard 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine. This unit is available across the complete trim level lineup. It can produce up to 280 hp and 263 lb-ft of torque. It is a very reliable and potent engine that comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel-drive comes as standard, and Passport offers more ground clearance than the Pilot SUV.
Thanks to that, off-roading adventures are a possibility. Some rumors are suggesting a new 10-speed automatic transmission, and we’ll have to wait and see if the rumors are true. This small SUV can tow up to 5,000 pounds, and fuel economy has been rated at 20 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
2021 Honda Passport Price and Release Date
New 2021 Honda Passport will cost $32,000. That means the price is a carryover. The range-topping Elite trim starts at around $45,000, and it provides real luxury. The sales will start by the end of 2020. Most likely, Honda will launch a new “Baby Pilot” this November.
