The brand-new 2021 GMC Yukon is the next-generation model. Full-size SUV will ride on its fifth generation. Thanks to that, we expect a complete redesign. That includes interior overhaul, as well. Visually, Yukon will get a lot of refreshments. Furthermore, new exterior features will be in the offer too. On the inside, we expect larger displays, new upholstery, and new interior color schemes.
First spy shots emerged online, and some of the upgrades are visible. As for the engine lineup, things under the hood should remain. Still, some changes under the skin will undoubtedly happen. General Motors will once again introduce a nine-passenger Yukon XL variant.
Spy Shots Are Suggesting a Redesign
New spy photos of the 2021 GMC Yukon are available. The full-size SUV is about to get a redesign. Under the heavy camo, some parts are entirely hidden. However, we can still spot numerous styling changes. Yukon’s new generation will introduce changes on all trim levels, including the larger XL version. General Motors will add new sheet metal, new taillights, and headlights.
Whatsoever, C-shaped tail lamps are horizontally oriented and are stretching into the tailgate. New front fascia wears fresh grille modifications and new headlamps. Moreover, quad exhaust tips are visible at first glance. Finally, Yukon will introduce a new rising window line. A similar feature is already present on the current Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain models.
2021 Yukon Interior Overhaul
Inside the full-size SUV, you will now find more standard features. General Motors will focus on technology department. The upcoming 2021 GMC Yukon will also get new upholstery and possibly a new interior color scheme. The infotainment system is a regular update that happens basically every year. New lighting graphics are available and larger displays, as well. GM plans to deliver unique updates to each trim level.
Some reports are even suggesting an interior overhaul. It is a very likely outcome, as this is the new-gen model. Still, we think that Yukon will get slight dashboard modifications and center console redesign. There is still room for eight passengers, and Yukon continues to offer generous cabin space. Yukon XL increases the number of seats to nine.
No Engine Changes
Some rumors are predicting a new powertrain option for the new-gen model. However, that is unlikely to happen. The 2021 GMC Yukon will most likely continue to deploy its 5.3-liter V8. This is a standard engine option, and it delivers 355 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque. A 6-speed automatic gearbox is available, and Yukon comes with a standard two-wheel-drive system. The full-size SUV is rated at 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
2021 GMC Yukon Denali
The range-topping 2021 GMC Yukon Denali is a thing of luxury. It adds such a premium appearance, and the interior is incredibly upscale. Most of the features are offered as standard. Moreover, safety and comfort are at the highest possible level. Still, the 2021 model will be the same as the current Denali.
Under the hood, Denali is using a 6.2-liter V8. Thanks to that, Denali can produce up to 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. Unlike the base model, Denali offers a new 10-speed automatic transmission. Potent V8 comes with a direct fuel management system and active cylinder deactivation. This will slightly boost fuel efficiency.
Price and Arrival Date
The next-gen 2021 GMC Yukon will now cost around $53,000. This is a small jump in price over the previous generation. On the other hand, the Yukon XL will cost $56,500. General Motors will release its newest full-size SUV in the last quarter of 2020.
