The forthcoming 2021 GMC Yukon XL won’t arrive as the next-gen model. Instead, it Is the last model in the current generation, and its production is underway at GM’s Arlington Plant in Texas. The same plant will build new Chevy Tahoe and Suburban SUVs.
The XL variant is an extended-length SUV of the regular GMC Yukon. The upcoming model will show us a glimpse of what we can expect from the new generation. That includes a new platform and other numerous upgrades. The sales will begin by the end of the year, and its price should remain intact.
2021 Yukon XL Gets New T1 Architecture

The approaching 2021 GMC Yukon XL is available with three different engine options. A 5.3-liter V8 naturally-aspirated gasoline is offered as standard, and it delivers 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. Optional 6.2-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline unit can produce 420 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of twisting power. Lastly, there is a 3.0-liter inline-six Duramax engine. It is a diesel powertrain that cranks out 277 horses and up to 460 lb-ft of torque.
However, diesel engine won’t become instantly available. Yukon XL also comes with an independent rear suspension that will depart from the previous model. It provides greater handling and improves ride quality. A 6-speed automatic transmission will remain, and Yukon XL continues to offer 16 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.
2021 GMC Yukon XL Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2021 GMC Yukon XL will start at $55,000. GM will also offer unique trim levels, and the famous AT4 variant will cost around $68,000. On top of that, the range-topping Denali trim provides real luxury, and it is available for $75,000. GM will launch its new Yukon XL SUV by the end of the year.
