The all-new 2021 Ford EcoSport is a compact crossover that will continue with improvements. It is a small vehicle that is easy to maneuver and park. It comes with plenty of handy features but it still lacks some new high-tech amenities. Moreover, its standard engine is sluggish and not so recommendable.
For 2021, Blue Oval will introduce two new exterior colors and a new appearance package. Moreover, new wheels are in the offer as well. Generally, it is a good-looking crossover with plenty of modern stuff and solid performances.
2021 EcoSport Facelift and SE Appearance Package
The exterior of the 2021 Ford EcoSport will get a slightly different look. Of course, the dimensions and the vehicle’s shape won’t change. However, EcoSport will provide a muscular look with a recognizable Ford’s front fascia design. EcoSport is known for its swing-out tailgate that is more than a practical feature.
For 2021, this crossover will get a new SE Appearance Package. Moreover, the same package adds brand-new 17-inch alloy wheels. If you want more luxury, the Titanium trim level is the real deal. This version comes with more chrome accents and body-colored bumpers with metallic accents.
The interior won’t introduce any major updates. The upcoming 2021 Ford EcoSport will only get a new glovebox and new mirrors in the sun visors. While EcoSport is a five-seater crossover, you can only fit four adults inside the cabin. On the other hand, the interior is comfortable and the cargo area is surprisingly spacious. Ford offers a standard 8-inch touchscreen that will now sit atop the center stack.
Thanks to that, access is easier. New SYNC3 infotainment system is available too and you can use the same touchscreen for climate control or audio system. Unfortunately, Blue Oval won’t offer more high-quality materials as we hoped. EcoSport especially needs more soft-touch surfaces on the dashboard and around the center console.
EcoSport Won’t Introduce New Engines
Once again, the 2021 Ford EcoSport will use the same two engine options. A standard 1.0-liter three-cylinder turbo engine provides 123 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque. If fuel economy is not your priority, you should skip this engine option. It delivers 28 mpg combined but it is far from a smooth engine with plenty of power.
Optional 2.0-liter four-cylinder is a far better option with 166 horsepower and 150 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, this unit comes with a standard AWD system and it provides 26 mpg combined. On the other hand, both engines are offering a fuel-saving stop/start system and both units are available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
2021 Ford EcoSport Price and Release Date
The upcoming 2021 Ford EcoSport will start at $20,000. It is an affordable price for this subcompact crossover. However, you should go for an optional engine and one of the upper trim levels.
For instance, SE trim level with optional powertrain costs slightly below $25,000. Titanium model is the best one and you can get one for $27,500. New EcoSport will rival Mazda CX-3, Honda HR-V, and brand-new Kia Seltos. The sales will start in the coming months, most likely this summer.
