Ford Bronco could get another competitor. The 2021 Dodge Ramcharger could make a huge comeback at some point next year. The Ramcharger was a popular model in the U.S. between the 70s and 90s, and it competed with Ford Bronco and Chevy K5 Blazer. Like its two rivals, Dodge used a pickup chassis for a start.
The result is an incredibly roomy SUV and a practical model that comes with removable covering. Now, Ramcharger is a subject of various rumors. One of the most interesting rumors is its comeback that should happen in 2021. First, rendering photos are available and are looking very interesting. The interior should not depart from other Dodge’s models, and the powertrain will be a larger V8 unit.
2021 Ramcharger Rendered
The renderings of the 2021 Dodge Ramcharger are looking very promising. The starting point on this rendering is the Ram 1500 Rebel pickup truck. Rebel is only available in a two-door variant, but the Ramcharger SUV will arrive with a four-door body setup. Dodge could opt for a dual-pane sunroof that is also available on the Rebel pickup. Interestingly, but the rendering photos are showing bigger sunroof and Ramcharger will deliver additional interior space.
However, the highlight of the arriving SUV are larger windows in the back that don’t open. Combine that with the sunroof, and you will get a lot of natural light in the cabin. Of course, some styling cues will be taken from Dodge’s or even Jeep’s vehicles. Lastly, Dodge could follow the footsteps of the Chevy Suburban and Ford Expedition and offer two wheelbase lengths.
Interior Based on the Ram 1500
On the inside, the new 2021 Dodge Ramcharger should offer a room for eight people. That means a three-row seating configuration will be offered as standard. As for the cabin design, we think the Ram 1500 pickup will have a great impact on it.
That includes an 8.4-inch touchscreen and optional 12-inch display. Moreover, the Ramcharger SUV will use the latest Uconnect infotainment system. Thanks to that, features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot and navigation will be available.
The brand-new 2021 Dodge Ramcharger will use one of the powertrain options from the Ram 1500 truck. However, a standard 3.6-liter V6 won’t be in the offer. Instead, Ramcharger will arrive with a larger 5.7-liter Hemi V8 gasoline engine. This powertrain is capable of producing 395 hp and 410 lb-ft of torque. That should be more than enough to move such a large SUV.
The best part could be the brand’s eTorque hybrid system. However, this is another speculation that is unlikely to happen. However, rivalling the Bronco SUV demands such bold moves such as hybrid powertrain. Lastly, a 6.4-liter Hemi V8 could be an optional engine, along with the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6.
2021 Dodge Ramcharger Release Date and Price
The approaching 2021 Dodge Ramcharger will compete with other full-size SUVs. That means the price should start at around $50,000. The range-topping trim level will cost $70,000 or even more. According to various speculation, the Ramcharger will make a huge return at some point in 2021.
