2021 Chevy Traverse Gets Serious Upgrades

At last, official updates for the upcoming 2021 Chevy Traverse are official. The sales will start later this year, most likely with a slightly higher starting price. Traverse will sport new styling on the front and rear fascias. Interior seating has also been revised, a new LED lighting system and numerous safety aids are available.

Thanks to that, both exterior and interior will be heavily upgraded. Moreover, a new infotainment system, high-tech features, and driver-assistance features are available as well. Traverse ride on its second generation that has been present since 2018.

As we said, the new 2021 Chevy Traverse will feature a new look. Both ends will be redesigned which is great news for the customers. For a start, the front grille has been flanked by a slender new LED lighting system. Turn signals are all-new and are integrated into daytime running lights. In the back, Traverse will feature new LED taillamps, however, the shape will largely remain.

On the inside, this model will gain new seating options for a second and third row. Furthermore, a Dual SkyScape 2 sunroof is brand-new. The rear power shade is in the offer, along with the Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The instrument cluster will now host an 8-inch touchscreen.

Safety Improvements

Current Traverse offers more than a solid list of safety and driver-assistance features. However, the 2021 Chevy Traverse will offer even more. The upcoming SUV will arrive with Adaptive Cruise Control on the 3LT, RS and Premier models. Of course, some features are limited to select models. A new rear-safety alert system is also standard but on the Premier and High Country variants.

Traverse will also get an expanded list of systems such as auto emergency braking and lane departure warning. On top of that, front pedestrian detection, lane keep assist and auto high beams are now available. Traverse offers seven seats but you can opt for the second-row bench seat and accommodate up to eight passengers.

Engine Will Largely Remain

The forthcoming 2021 Chevy Traverse won’t introduce changes under the hood. Chevrolet clearly thinks that there is no need for such a radical move at this moment. Thanks to that, a 3.6-liter V6 with 310 horsepower remains. This powertrain comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission and a standard front-wheel-drive setup.

As in the current model, all-wheel-drive is optional on the base trim level. Speaking of trim levels, there will be five of them. The base trim level is LS while LT and RS will be offered as mid-range versions. The range-topping trims are Premier and High Country.

2021 Chevy Traverse Arrival Date and Price

The sales of the new 2021 Chevy Traverse will start later this year. The pricing is yet to be announced. The current model starts at $31,000 and you can expect a slight jump in price. Moreover, the L model is priced at $34,000 and LS at $36,500. As for the Premium and High Country, the price starts at $47,000 and $52,000. AWD setup is optional and it costs $2,200. The 2021 model is a part of the second generation Traverse.
