The model you’ve never heard off. April Fools’ Day was last week, right at the time when the spy photos appeared. However, it is not a joke and 2021 Aurus Komendant is really happening. Aurus is Russia’s brand that actively works on its new models. So far, Aurus offers Senat sedan and Arsenal minivan. The latest model is the arriving 2021 Komendant. It is a luxury SUV that has been spied recently.
This model is currently in the development and the prototype vehicle looks more than promising. Many experts are predicting for new Komendant to rival Rolls-Royce Cullinan model. Indeed, Komendant looks very similar and it probably offers plenty of luxury, just like Cullinan SUV. So far, we don’t know much about interior design nor engine options.
2021 Komendant Spy Shots
The upcoming 2021 Aurus Komendant is still in the development phase. The latest spy photos are the latest proof. A prototype has been spied while tested on a frozen lake in Sweden. The front fascia was completely camouflaged which perfectly hides the form and shape of the radiator grille. However, side openings in the bumper are visible with plenty of chrome accents.
The rear part is quite a mystery. Provisional taillights are easy to spot but it seems like we are not looking at the final design. Many experts are convinced that the rear bumper with wide openings and rear diffuser will be different. Even the different layout of the exhaust system is probable. Overall, Komendant SUV is similar to Rolls-Royce Cullinan and it looks luxurious.
Renderings
Spy photos served as a perfect inspiration for people to make new renderings. The 2021 Aurus Komendant is basically a high-rider variant of the Senat sedan. Again, even the rendering photos are showing an SUV that is very similar to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.
On the other hand, renderings are only showing the front part. The square-shaped radiator grille looks truly impressive. However, the wheels are way too traditional and we hope to see a different design once the Komendant SUV arrives. After all, see it for yourself.
Interior Details
The Interior is perhaps the biggest mystery so far. The brand-new 2021 Aurus Komendant will surely feature a luxury cabin. It is safe to say that it will borrow plenty of features and cues from the Aurus Senat sedan. That means the interior will look luxurious in every possible way. Good thing is that the Komendant SUV will provide more interior room and even more high-tech features.
As this is a Russian model, it is hard to predict which tech amenities will be on the list of standard and optional equipment. It seems like the spy shots are showing a pair of screens mounted on the front seats. That clearly suggests a rear entertainment system but that is everything we could see on a prototype.
Engine Specs
A possible powertrain option is another mystery. However, things are clearer as there are two possible outcomes for the 2021 Aurus Komendant. The first outcome is a 4.4-liter V8 gasoline engine. This unit can produce 598 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with a standard 9-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive system.
The second possible outcome for Komendant SUV is to offer the same engine in a combination with a hybrid setup. However, we can’t go into more precise details, simply because it would be pure speculation.
2021 Aurus Komendant Price and Release Date
Just like Rolls-Royce Cullinan or Bentley Bentayga, the new 2021 Aurus Komendant will be an expensive model. However, the Russian manufacturer is still silent on price details. This SUV will arrive at some point next year.
Moreover, it will be the Aurus’ first SUV ever made. Still, due to the company’s limited production capacity, we don’t know at which markets will Komendant arrive.
